12 Indicators of a Quality ABA Program

  1. Begin ABA Therapy early, preferably before the age of 3. We find that this allows for the best long term results and quality of life for our clients.
  2. Ensure your ABA Therapist is working closely with your family- including extended family and caregivers.
  3. Make sure the therapy your loved one is getting includes their personal preferences as a source of motivation and to ensure their happiness
  4. We focus on helping our clients to be independent as possible, as appropriate for their age
  5. That the therapy provides a structured environment
  6. All treatment plans should include generalization to natural environments, such as the movies or store
  7. Places and emphasis on building communication skills
  8. ABA therapy should focus on teaching play/leisure skills and facilitating social opportunities
  9. A clinic should offer opportunity to practice mastered skills, as this helps to prevent regression
  10. An ABA clinic should offer a customized treatment plan for each client.  No cookie cutters allowed!
  11. We work hard to ensure client consent is obtained before conducting assessments or implementing treatments behavior plans
  12. How do we know its working? We place an emphasis on data collection during all of our sessions and are able to compare this to pre-treatment (baseline) measures
